With registration numbers quickly approaching 900, there are less than 50 spots remaining for the Lake Ann Race. Don’t wait ’til race day to sign up! Make sure you are a part of the largest MiracleKids Triathlon to-date!
Every year, hundreds of Minnesota kids battle cancer and are too sick to race. At the Miracles of Mitch Foundation, we call these brave kids, Mitch’s All Stars. On August 21, nearly 1000 kids will do the racing for them at the MiracleKids Triathlon.
-
Upon entering the race, we’ll mail the 2010
Race Kit with all the information you need to be ready for race day. It includes a trading card (like this one of DJ) with the Mitch’s All Star you’ll be racing in spirit for.
-
Then on race day, we’ll mark this All Star’s name on the back of your left leg to give you all the inspiration you need to go the distnace. Most families also raise pledges for the Miracles of Mitch. The triathlon is our most important fund raiser of the year. Pledges raised at the triathlon allow us to help hundreds of Mitch’s All Star kids and families through this very difficult time in their lives. It also makes doing the race more rewarding.
Racing for yourself – Fabulous.
Racing for someone else too – Priceless
The Big Race is coming soon. We expect record numbers of participants and may have to - for the first time – close registrations for the race. If you don’t want to miss out, sign-up today by clicking Registration.
We had our biggest Lake Nokomis race ever on July 17th as nearly 500 kids started. More importantly, 100% of the kids finished despite the intense heat and humidty.
Nokomis Fund Raisers Amazing – Challenge Chan Racers
We recognized 10 new Mitchie Hall of Fame members as MiracleKids raised $40,000 in off-line pledges and over $50,000 in on-line pledges. The Nokomis racers set a very high standard for kids raising pledges for the Chanhassen race. It will be fun to see if Chan participants can top Nokomis racers in both categories of fundraising and number of finishers.
The Lake Nokomis MiracleKids Triathlon is only 4 days away! There are a few things to remember when you are heading to the race. First, race headquarters are near the main beach on the north side of the lake. This is where you’ll check-in, pick up the raceday goody bag, and turn in all of your pledges.
Second, head over to the T-zone to receive your body marking. This is the name of the Mitch’s All Star you’ll be racing for. Then, get ready for a great race!
Make sure you remember your race gear, including your swim trunks, your bicycle and a good pair of running shoes! Forgeting a pair of running shoes could ruin a triathlon.
We encourage everyone to come to the swim and transition practice session on Wednesday, July 14 at 7:30 p.m., at Foss Swim Center located at 6545 Flying Cloud Dr., Eden Prairie. Bring your swim trunks, shoes and other clothing. After the session, you’ll receive one token that you can use at Prize Central.
