The summer is slowing down, but the Lake Ann MiracleKids Triathlon is speeding up! With less than a week away, there are a few things all the racers and parents should remember:
Parking is located throughout the park, but the park roads will be closed when the race begins and will remained closed until the race concludes. If you plan to leave before 10:30 a.m., park on W. 78th street in the Eck parking lot east of the park entrance.
The race village will be housed at the park pavillion. There, racers can check-in, received their race bags and turn in pledges. After check-in, racers can make their way to the T-zone where they’ll be marked with the name of a Mitch’s All Star.
Racers should practice starting and stopping on hills, as well as turning. And, parents should be comfortable shoes. There is a lot of ground to cover if you’re planning on watching your young triathletes!
For the first time ever, participants in the MiracleKids Triathlon have raised over $100,000 in on-line donations for the Miracles of Mitch Foundation. There is still time to use our fast system for creating a page and/or making a donation to support a kid at www.firstgiving.com/miraclesofmitch.
Thanks.
The MiracleKids Triathlon is excited to announce that ALL 2010 Mitchie Hall of Fame winners will receive a box of Wheaties from General Mills. It won’t be just any old box of Wheaties. It will have you on the Box. All you need to do is raise $1000 or more. Siblings will share the box cover.
We have reached our maximum field size and were forced to close registration early. It’s unfortunate that a lot of kids who still want to race will be left out, but our first priority is a safe race. There
’s always next year.
With registration numbers quickly approaching 900, there are less than 50 spots remaining for the Lake Ann Race. Don’t wait ’til race day to sign up! Make sure you are a part of the largest MiracleKids Triathlon to-date!
